This mailbox is fully functional but has a finish issue. The manufacturer did not use the specified UV resistant powder coat finish so these will fade to gray after a few months in the sun. With a little help from you, this can be prevented by spraying an automotive clearcoat on the exterior of the mailbox, such as Dupli-Color™ Perfect Match Protective Clear Coat Finish. We recommend 2-3 thin coats be applied for maximum protection. This can be sprayed directly over the flag and handle as well so no need to remove. You can also paint it to match your shutters or house trim.
Minor cosmetic blemishes are shown in the detail photos. They do not hinder the functionality of the mailbox.
The Spira Large PostBox is a quality fabricated stainless steel mailbox that is powder coated in a matte black finish. Its size allows for magazines and large envelopes to lie flat in the box. This is a quality, rugged mailbox designed for years of service. Post available separately.
